» Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary :

Located
at an altitude of 1400 m in the western ghats near Pollachi, this wildlife
sanctuary is 90-km from Coimbatore. It was recently renamed Indira Gandhi
Wildlife Sanctuary. Flourishing in 958- sq- kms, this paradise of nature is
is abundant with a variety of flora and fauna. Wildlife tourists like this
wildlife sanctuary for its unique collection of rarefied animals.
» Black Thunder Amusement Park :
This water sports and amusement park, on Ooty main road, is situated 40-km
from Coimbatore. Very suitable to spend the vacation with whole of the
family, this park offers the opportunity to unwind yourself completely.
There are numerous things for the children to play and enjoy with.
» Parambikulam Aliyar Multipurpose Project :
This marvel of engineering is established in the Anamalai range. A series
of dams are interconnected by canals and tunnels at this multipurpose
project. To fulfill the needs of the people, Aliyar, Parambikulam, Sholiyar,
Nirar, Thekkady, Thunakaduvu and Palar rivers are used to harness the water
for irrigation and power generation.
» V O C Park :
This park is the best to enjoy along with children. It was named after a
freedom fighter V.O. Chidambaram and is being maintained by Coimbatore
Corporation. Models of prehistoric dinasaurs, Children's Train, Slider,
Seesaw, Swing and a mini zoo are major highlights of the park.
» Thirupur :
This major textile centre of this region is famous for the hosiery
products. Closely linked with Thiruppur Kumaran, a freedom fighter, 50-km
from Coimbatore.
» Government Museum :

Government
of India established this museum in 1989 which preserves relics and
artifacts of local tribes. It is situated in VOC Park Road. Divided into
five sections, this museum has a priceless collection of megalithic burial
material, ancient coins, treasure trove materials and decorative artifacts.
Old rocks, minerals, wood fossils, tribal medicinal plants are put in a
separate section.
» Forest College Museum :
Situated 3.5 km north of local railway station, this museum is one of the
oldest of its kind in the country. It is not preserving the fossils of
plants and animals but also dead specimen of rarefied plants and animals.
» Kodaikanal :
only 138 km from Coimbatore, this exotic hill resort lies at the southern
tip of Palani Hills. Refreshing springs, lush forests, salubrious air and
splendid waterfalls are some of the major highlights of this place.
» Top Slip :
This exotic site located in Anamalai Hills is 37 km from Pollachi. It is a
famous tourist destination and picnic spot.
