Munnar - Tourist Attractions
» Mattupetty :

Mainly
famous for its quality dairy farm, Mattupetty, is only 13 km from Munnar and
silently perched at a height of 1700 metres. More than 100 varieties of high
yielding cattle are reared at this Indo-Swiss live stock project. You are
allowed to visit three of the eleven cattle sheds. An enchanting lake and a
huge dam are very near this farm. You can enjoy boating at the dam. Tea
plantations and lake at Kundala are another excursions here.
» Devikulam :
Only 3 km from Munnar, this pastoral hill resort is full of lush lawns,
rarefied wildlife and gently blowing misty wind. All this is enough to make
you rejuvenated. Sita Devi Lake is another excellent tourist attraction near
Devikulam. You can also enjoy trout fishing here.
» Pothamedu :
This tourist destination , 6 km from Munnar, offers a spectacular view of
flourishing tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. Tourists, who
are fond of adventure sports, enjoy trekking and long mountain walks in
here.
» Attukal :
Comprising a galaxy of rolling hills and waterfalls, Attukal, is located
between Munnar and Pallivasal. This treat for your eyes and an ideal site
for long trekking is only 9 km from here. You will never forget this unique
place for its serene ambiance.
» Nyayamakad :

This
land of waterfalls is situated between Munnar and Rajamala. This tourist
spot of more than 1600 m hight creates a breath taking view. Nyayamakad, 10
km from Munnar, emeged recently as a exotic locale to spend the weekends and
enjoy trekking.
» Pallivasal :
A place of profound scenic beauty, Pallivakal, is a worthy excursion of
Munnar. It is located only 8 km from there and houses the first Hydro
Electric Generation Project in Kerala.
» Chithirapuram :
Pallivasal Hydel Power Project was established here. Lush tea plantations
are the major attraction of this exotic place with old bunglows, tiny
cottages, big playgrounds.
» Lock Heart Gap :
A magnificent spot for adventure tourism and trekking, Lock Heart Gap, is

» Eravikulam National Park :
Devikulam Taluk, 15 km from Munnar, houses this reservoir of wildlife and a
home of Nilgiri Tahr. Spread in a huge area of 97 km, the park is also known
for a giant peak of Anamudi with the height of 2695 km. You will be
mesmerized to witness this land of boundless beauty of nature for sure.
