Introduction
An erstwhile getaway for the British to escape the ruthless summers of the
plains, this famous hill resort of Kerala still maintains its significance

of Idukki district of Kerala is often described as 'Switzerland of India'.
Kundala, Mudrapuzha and Nallathani, these three mountain streams merge here.
Munnar drives its name from this fact of being a confluence of three
mountain streams. Huge Western Ghats harbor lush tea plantations, rambling
lanes and world-class facilities and amenities. It is also proud to have
1600 m high peak of Anamudi, highest in South India. More than thirty tea
gardens are in and around Munnar. That's why it has emerged as a tea trade
centre in the country. Ride a bicycle down the slope and let it pick up its

enjoys a soothing climate in summer when the tempereature varies between 15
º C to 25 º C. Mercury keeps on fluctuating between 0 º C and
